Sundance Membership

Member Participation is mandatory and ensures:

  • Lower-than-market housing charges
  • Maintenance and fiscal health of the co-op
  • Upkeep of common areas
  • Community involvement
  • Advocacy with the city and other agencies that provide funding for the co-op
  • Communication between members

2021 Maximum Income Limits for Sundance Place

Sundance Place is our “Over 55” apartment building containing six 2 bedroom units and three 1 bedroom units. There is an Income Threshold for residents living in this building; which means that the annual household income cannot be higher than the highlighted amounts below.

Housing Subsidies can become available for applicants on restricted or low incomes applying to Sundance Main or Expansion ONLY.

Non-Smoking Policy states, in part, that there is no smoking in any Sundance buildings. Smoking is permitted outdoors only.

Dogs & Cats The maximum number of dogs or cats allowed per household is two, except where dogs & cats live in the same household. Then the total number allowed is a maximum of three. In Sundance Place apartments members may own one dog per household.

External List The Membership Committee will offer suitable units to approved applicants from the External List in accordance with Sundance’s needs as identified by Sundance.

Sundance Orientations

The first step in the application process is to come to one of our Orientations. Please sign up on this page.

All applicants are required to attend a Sundance Orientation to learn more about our co-op. Application forms will be emailed to you at the end of each orientation meeting.

The next Sundance Orientation will be on April 12th, 2024 at 6:00pm via webinar.

Depending on public health restrictions and the comfort of attendees, future orientations may be in-person, webinar, or hybrid.

Insurance with minimum personal liability coverage of $1,000,000 must be held by all members.

Vacancies We are committed to a one third split of members with high, middle and low incomes.

NACHA

As part of Sundance Housing Co-operative’s application process, you will need to attend a NACHA information session to learn more about the benefits and responsibilities of joining a housing co-op. For upcoming dates, visit nacha.ca/information-sessions/. The information session costs $20.00. When you submit your application to Sundance Housing Co-op, you will need to include a copy of your receipt with the application form. You don’t need to pre-register for the NACHA information session. Call NACHA at 780-482-6128 if you have any questions.

In addition to the NACHA orientation, all applicants are required to attend a Sundance orientation where you will learn more information specific to our co-op.
